Polish and foreign pianists begin the 63rd season of the Summer Chopin Concerts in Royal Baths Park

by Dignity News
After a two-year break, the Chopin Concerts returned to the stage at the Chopin monument in the Royal Baths Park in Warsaw.

The 63rd season of the Summer Chopin Concerts will last until September 25. It is a return to the tradition of meetings with classical music outdoors. Every Sunday at 12.00 and 16.00, listeners will be able to listen to recitals by Polish and foreign pianists, including those from France, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Hungary, Great Britain, China, USA, Vietnam and Japan.

The concerting stars of classical music include Jakub Kuszlik, winner of the 4th prize at the 18th International Piano Competition Frederic Chopin (2021). Alberto Nosè, the laureate of First Prize of the 14th International Competition Frederic Chopin in Warsaw.

“Chopin concerts in Royal Baths Park have a special place in the hearts of Varsovians. Undoubtedly, the capital city is one of the places most closely associated with the composer. After two years of online concerts, we are returning to Royal Baths in front of the Fryderyk Chopin monument, the work of the outstanding sculptor Wacław Szymanowski which was unveiled in 1926. The monument, destroyed during the war, was reconstructed and in 1958 it was returned to the Royal Baths. And already in 1959, Estrada of Capital City together with Chopin’s Association organized the first Chopin Concert in the Royal Bath Park”, reminds Andrzej Matusiak, director of Estrada of Capital City.

The Royal Bath Museum in Warsaw reminds the public that the concerts have undergone various modifications over the years. Ultimately, the formula of classic recitals held every Sunday from mid-May to the end of September was adopted. This choice was dictated by the huge interest in concerts in the Royal Baths. This popularity was also influenced by the selection of artists who considered their performances at the Chopin Monument an honour.
