“The commitment of the United States to our NATO Alliance and Article 5 is rock solid. And every member of NATO knows it.  And Russia knows it as well. An attack against one is an attack against all.  It’s a sacred oath. A sacred oath to defend every inch of land of NATO countries”, said US President Joe Biden during a speech at the Kubicki Arcades in Warsaw.

Earlier, the U.S. leader met with Polish President Andrzej Duda, who thanked the U.S. President for his visit to Kyiv on Monday. 

“This was an extremely spectacular strategic and political move. An extremely important signal first and foremost for Ukraine, strengthening the morale of the defenders and all those who are deciding today about the defense of Ukraine”, said Andrzej Duda.

During the talks, the Presidents raised the issue of security in Europe, especially on NATO’s eastern flank in the face of Russian aggression against Ukraine. They also discussed preparations for the NATO summit in Vilnius in July and Polish-American cooperation in the energy sector, including civilian nuclear energy.

Following the meeting, the White House said that “President Biden praised the generous support of the Polish people for welcoming more than 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees into their communities.”

During an evening meeting with Poles in the Kubicki’s Arcades, President Andrzej Duda called on all European and NATO leaders to stand in solidarity with Ukraine, to send military support so that Ukraine’s defenders have something to fight with.

The US President began his speech with the words: “Hello Poland, our great ally! Instead of finlandization of NATO, Putin lived to see NATO-ization of Finland and Sweden. He thought NATO would disintegrate and divide, but it is more united and stronger than ever before”, Joe Biden said.
