Nextbike Polska, the operator of the urban bicycle network, has inaugurated the new season in 10 Polish cities. More than 6.7 thousand bicycles and nearly 1,000 self-service rental stations have been made available to the inhabitants, reports the company.

The new urban bicycle season started on 1 March in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Kołobrzeg, Konin, Koszalin, Piaseczno, Tarnów, Warsaw, Wolsztyn, Wrocław and Zielona Góra. In the first stage over 6.7 thousand bicycles and nearly one thousand stations will be available to the inhabitants of these cities.

In a month, on 1 April, the cycling season will start in further Polish cities. Last year, the Warsaw-based company, through special purpose vehicles, participated in tenders or concluded agreements for the launch or continuation of bicycle systems in, among others, Katowice, Łomża, Chełm, Częstochowa, Tychy, Kalisz, Szamotuły, Siemianowice Śląskie, Pruszków, Sosnowiec.

In 2022, on average each day Nextbike Polska recorded almost 30 thousand rentals (on 5 June, a record was set – the company rented a total of 58 thousand vehicles). On Nextbike bicycles, users spent over 219 million minutes, during which they travelled over 33 million kilometres.

“The previous year was a special year for us, we made significant progress in the restructuring process of the company, while at the same time. We achieved a very good result in terms of the number of rentals”, says Tomasz Wojtkiewicz, CEO of Nexbike Polska.

Nextbike Polska has been operating in Poland since 2011 and has been listed on NewConnect, the parallel market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, since 2017. The company, after several years of prosperity, has fallen into trouble and is therefore undergoing restructuring by implementing an arrangement procedure with its creditors.

At the end of September last year, its consolidated sales revenues amounted to PLN 48.5 million, 7.8% more than in the same period last year. Adjusted EBIDTA amounted to PLN 14.6 million, up 8.1% year-on-year. Net profit amounted to PLN 2.3 million.
