Talks continue about Polish arms supplies to Ukraine

by DignityNews.eu

Paweł Soloch, head of the presidential National Security Bureau, emphasized that Ukrainians are not expecting additional soldiers from other countries. Currently, there are no talks on support for Ukraine by the Polish Army. He admitted, however, that talks on the supply of weapons are ongoing.

Paweł Soloch recalled that for many years Poland has been a strong advocate of the Ukrainian cause. Poland helps in the political dimension, bilaterally, within the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union. The Polish support was the subject of two-day consultations between presidents Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelensky, which took place before the weekend in Wisła.

The head of the National Security Bureau revealed that the attitude of Germany towards the Russian-Ukrainian conflict raises some concerns.

Soloch said that the German government, together with its allies, is demonstrating an assertive attitude towards Russia, but what is really worrying is the attempt to minimize the importance of tensions around Ukraine.

Referring to the statement that Germany does not supply arms to Ukraine, despite being one of the largest arms exporters in the world, Paweł Soloch noted that they supply arms to other regions of the conflict. “As for Ukraine, we have certain German decisions relating to the provision of equipment or defensive measures. Also, the German position on rearming Ukraine with offensive means also raises our concern. It was one of the topics of my Friday conversation with Jens Plötner, advisor to the German Chancellor for Foreign and Security Policy”.
