Ryanair airlines have introduced changes to the number of flights to Poland. From January the company will cut at least 70 flights for approximately 3-4 weeks. The cuts in the booking system will apply to airports in Poland used by the Irish company.
Most of the canceled flights are to the UK, which may be related to the UK’s plans of introducing a hard lockdown and mandatory tests. The airports in Wrocław and Poznań will lose the most connections (13 routes) followed by Kraków Airport (11 connections) and Warsaw-Modlin Airport (10).
The reason for this change is the spread of Omicron – a more contagious variant of coronavirus. Ryanair more than doubled its annual loss forecast and cut its January traffic estimations by 33%. The company blames, the travel restrictions imposed in France, Germany and Morocco after the release of the Omicron variant for this decline.
