The Central Statistical Office reported that in December 2021, the buying prices of basic agricultural commodities, i. e. wheat, rye, poultry, cow’s milk, live cattle and pigs, increased by 28.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, after an increase of 21.5% noticed in November. According to experts, this growth will translate into an increase in retail prices in stores.

The current consumer confidence index (BWUK), which describes the current trends in individual consumption, was 29.2, which was 4.1% lower than in January 2021.

The future consumer confidence index (WWUK), which describes the trends in individual consumption expected in the coming months, fell by 0.8% compared to January 2021 and was at the level of 23.5%.
