Professional mobility remains unchanged in Poland

According to the latest study “New faces of work” carried out by portal Pracuj.pl., every second working Pole declares that he would quit his job if it had a negative impact on his physical or mental health.

Poles remain professionally mobile. 36% of them declare that they are actively looking for new jobs. The most distinctive and common motivations for taking such a step are financial issues, especially in times of high inflation. However, among the factors determining a career change, “soft aspects” related to relationships, a sense of appreciation, and mental condition remain vital.

Research by the portal Pracuj.pl shows that Poles declare a relatively high willingness to quit their jobs, which has a negative impact on them. The most frequently indicated motivation is the deterioration of physical health which would cause half of the respondents to abandon their employers. 45% of the respondents would be encouraged to resign from their current job due to deteriorating mental health. The percentage in both cases is much higher than in the case of occupational burnout. This aspect would make people quit their jobs much less, only in 27% of Poles surveyed by Pracuj.pl.

Men are more likely to quit their jobs in either case. Deteriorating mental health and occupational burnout are sufficient motivations for quitting the job by younger people. This tendency decreases with the length of work.

“In today’s professional life, we strive to implement many ambitions, sometimes difficult to reconcile. We want to earn a decent income and have an interesting job, but at the same time keep a healthy distance from responsibilities. Striving to meet these requirements at the same time is a frequent motivation to change the place of employment, which is facilitated by the good situation in the labor market”, says Agnieszka Bieniak, HR Director at Grupa Pracuj.
