President Andrzej Duda has appealed to Russia to stop hostilities. “It is an unprecedented act of aggression, a new violation of international law by Russia. I believe that the international community will clearly respond to this”, said the president after the meeting at the National Security Bureau (BBN).

On Thursday morning, a meeting in BBN was convened by the president, government representatives, military commanders and heads of special service.

“I would like to assure you that we stand with Ukraine, as its neighbors, as the North Atlantic Alliance, as the European Union,” said Duda. The president expressed a hope that the Russian aggression would be stopped.

“I hope that the Russian authorities will reflect that it is not profitable for them. I appeal to Russian citizens not to support the authorities in this action. I appeal for an end to hostilities. I will do my best to stop immediately aggression against Ukraine today so that Ukraine can continue to develop peacefully and freely”, stressed the president.
