PGE Energia Odnawialna launched a new photovoltaic farm in Podlasie

by Dignity News
PGE Energia Odnawialna has launched the Augustynka PV solar farm in Podlasie, with a capacity of 25 MW and a value of approximately PLN 110 million. The launch of the farm will provide green energy for the needs of approximately 13,000 households.

“This is another investment that brings us closer to the strategic goal of having 3 GW of installed capacity in photovoltaic installations by 2030. The realisation of the investment by PGE Energia Odnawialna and PGE Dystrybucja increases the certainty of electricity supply to consumers in the Siemiatycze poviat, but also fully fits into the country’s energy transformation by increasing the possibilities of connecting new RES investments”, says Wojciech Dąbrowski, president of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.

The Augustynka PV plant was built on a plot of approximately 27 hectares. It consists of about 46,000 monocrystalline, bifacial panels, absorbing light bilaterally, both directly falling on the cell and reflected light reaching the ground, which increases the productivity of the installation.

According to data from PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna’s latest quarterly report to listed investors, its portfolio of 27 photovoltaic installations totalled 84.2 MW of installed capacity at the end of September 2023. Since then, it has thus expanded by 4 farms, including PV Huszlew and PV Huszlew 2 with a total capacity of 13 MW, which were built in the Łosicki district of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship and the now-launched PV Augustynka, currently the second largest in PGE Renewable’s solar portfolio (after PV Jeziórko, with a capacity of 50 MW, built in the Podkarpacie region). The market value of this installation is around €25 million, or approximately PLN 110 million.

PGE Energia Odnawialna, a member of the PGE Capital Group, is currently the largest producer of green energy in Poland. Its generation portfolio, with a total installed capacity of approximately 2,530 MW, includes 21 wind farms, 29 hydroelectric power plants, 4 pumped storage power plants and 33 photovoltaic farms.
