One of the largest wind power projects in Poland commissioned

by Dignity News
Enertrag has commissioned the 186 MW Dunowo wind project, which consists of two wind farms, Dargikowo and Karlino. This is one of the largest wind power projects in Poland and the company’s largest project to date.

The Dunowo wind investment is located near Koszalin, in north-western Poland. The investment consists of two sub-projects, Karlino and Dargikowo, with a total capacity of 186 MW, which will generate around 600,000 MWh of clean energy per year, corresponding to the electricity needs of almost a quarter of a million households. The Dargikowo wind farm comprises 43 wind turbines with a total capacity of 133 MW, while the Karlino wind farm is 16 turbines with a capacity of 53 MW.

“We are delighted to be making a significant contribution to Poland’s energy transition and independence. We are now jointly looking at the challenges ahead, as the Polish market still holds great potential for both wind power and PtX projects, particularly hydrogen”, said Enertrag CEO Gunar Hering.

As a pioneer in the use of green hydrogen in Europe, Enertrag intends to make an important contribution to the Polish hydrogen strategy and in this context, as in Germany, would like to contribute to the transformation of historical coal regions.

“We hope that the 10H rule, which slows down the development of Polish onshore wind power, will be mitigated in the near future. During the Dunowo project, we have noticed a strong interest from the Polish industry in regionally generated green energy. We would like to satisfy it by implementing further RES projects in the near future”, noted Enertrag’s director in Poland, Christoph Sowa,

Enertrag offers a full range of renewable energy services. The group produces 1.7 million MWh of energy annually and has a network of more than 1,125 wind turbines.
