Officer wounded in further attempts to forcibly cross the Polish-Belarusian border

The spokeswoman of the Border Guard, Lieutenant Anna Michalska informed that a Border Guard officer was injured during the illegal forcing at the Polish-Belarusian border. She was taken to a hospital in Białystok for examination of her broken nose.

The illegal attempt to cross the Polish-Belarusian border on the section protected by the Border Guard in Czeremsza took place on Saturday night. The Border Guard spokeswoman emphasized, that a very aggressive group threw stones at Polish patrols, blinded them with lasers and directed firecrackers. People in Belarusian uniforms were also present at the border.

On Monday, the Border Guard announced that in the last 24 hours 49 people had tried to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border. There was an attempt to forcibly cross the border on the section protected by the Border Guard post in Mielnik. A group of several foreigners and the Belarusian services fiercely forced the border, threw stones and tree logs towards Polish patrols.

Last year, Body Guard recorded almost 40 thousand attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border including 1.7 thousand attempts in December, 8.9 thousand in November, 17.5 thousand in October, 7.7 thousand in September, and 3.5 thousand in August.
