Mobile show ‘Sparks of Independence’ to set off across Poland

by DignityNews.eu

The ‘Sparks of Independence’ project was inaugurated in Warsaw. The multimedia spectacle, whose stage is formed by two modern exhibition trailers, will visit around 100 towns and cities this year. Its nationwide tour will begin on 2 March in Przemyśl. The project has been financed from the state budget under the funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN).

“More than one hundred years ago, Poland stroke out into independence after a very difficult time of partitions and tragic uprisings, in which Polish identity and culture survived despite those adversities. In the “Sparks of Independence” project inaugurated today, the history of our Homeland is an inspiration to tell the story of the achievements of compatriots who made Poland famous around the world. I hope that thanks to this modern project, focused on dialogue and debate, young people will become interested in Polish history”, said Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Glinski, during the inauguration.

“Sparks of Independence” – the mobile educational spectacle of the “Niepodległa” Office – presents the stories of more than a hundred prominent figures of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, whose common feature was the desire to change the world and transform potential into action. The story begins with the figures of the Fathers of Independence and then, with the background of Poland’s complicated history, shows the achievements of travellers, athletes and cultural creators, social activists, and scientists.

The project was created thanks to the cooperation of the “Niepodległa” Office and Polish producers from various industries. The narrator guiding the audience through the story of Polish achievements is a digital entity, and some of the graphics in the project were created with the help of artificial intelligence. The multimedia show is accompanied by a selection of material exhibits acquired courtesy of the Chancellery of the President, the Polish Olympic Committee, the Polish Ski Association, PIAP Space company, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Łódź Institute of Technology and the Krosno Craft Museum.
