Polish companies that want to resume exports to Ukraine and participate in the reconstruction of this country after the war can count on state support. Created in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the special aid program was announced on Thursday by the Ministry of Development and Technology.
The Ministry of Development and Technology (MRiT) has announced the launch of a program addressed to Polish entrepreneurs who want to operate in Ukraine. It will prepare them to enter or return to the Ukrainian market whenever possible.
“We want entrepreneurs who have lost export relations with Ukraine and those who want to participate in the reconstruction to be prepared for it when it becomes possible”, said Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda. He added that it was planned to establish a formal agreement on this matter with the Ukrainian partners.
In the opinion of the president of PAIH, Krzysztof Drynda, the program will be a response to the needs of Ukraine as entrepreneurs from this country are currently looking for business partners and submit inquiries on this matter to Polish institutions.
“So far, as a result of the Russian aggression, Ukraine has suffered losses and repairing them requires amounts in the range of USD 500-600 billion. In terms of infrastructure alone, $ 100 billion will be needed. “The reconstruction of the construction, medical and pharmaceutical, transport and logistics, agricultural, food, automotive and IT industries will be critical”, said Drynda.
The application process for the program began on Thursday, June 9. The first part assumes preparing a database of Polish entrepreneurs who want to operate in Ukraine.
The process will be open – companies can sign up for the program themselves via a special form on the PAIH website. From August 1, PAIH and MRiT intend to analyze the problems announced by entrepreneurs. Then, industry meetings will start to diagnose the problems that companies may face.
“It is primarily a matter of financing, insurance or knowledge of formal requirements. After these meetings, we will see what are the main needs of companies and what needs will be offered to them”, minister Buda announced and assessed that the initiative would surely attract attention because individual companies informed the ministry about such a need.
