Minister of National Defense striving a permanent presence of allied troops in Poland

by DignityNews.eu
Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak is trying to ensure the permanent presence of allied troops in Poland with the permanent bases, primarily of American troops. Their presence scares off the aggressor – said Błaszczak.

The head of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that Poland was consistently striving to strengthen its allied presence in Poland. It is bigger than before because there is a war near the borders of Poland – he admitted.

Poland also independently, within its budgetary capabilities, strengthens its defense potential. “Previously, military units were liquidated, especially those located in the east of Poland. We are consistently rebuilding the potential in the east”, reminded Błaszczak and expressed the hope that the law on the defense of the Homeland will enter into force soon. It will allow increasing defense spending to 3% of GDP next year.

A new solution will give a green light to create a fund to support the armed forces, which will bring additional money for investments in Poland’s security.

“The Minister of National Defense informed the public that Poland hosts currently over 10,000 US troops, accompanied with British, Romanian and Canadian troops, and soldiers from Croatia. “It is also worth remembering that Polish soldiers are in Latvia, Romania serving in NATO missions. We care about consistency alliance”, assured Mariusz Blaszczak.
