“The call for applications for the fourth programme ‘Meet Poland’ began on Monday 6 March. PLN 50 million has been earmarked for this purpose,” said Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek at a conference in Nałęczów. Priority in submitting applications will be given to schools that did not receive funding in previous editions of the programme.

“I am honoured to announce the continuation of the very popular ‘Meet Poland’ programme. Spring is coming, and it is time for young people and children from Polish schools to start learning about Poland, the history and tradition of this wonderful country,” Minister Czarnek said.

This is the fourth programme, which is becoming increasingly popular among schools and their students. To date, the ministry has provided more than 130 million PLN to support more than 13,000 school trips, which were used by around 700,000 pupils.

In the new programme, the number of educational points grouped into five educational areas: Following the Footsteps of the Polish Underground State, Following the Footsteps of Great Poles, Culture and National Heritage, Greatest Achievements of Polish Science and Discovering the Treasures of Villages will be increased by approximately 65 %.

A total of 1,261 educational points have been added to the list of places to visit within the framework of the “Meet Poland” venture (previously there were 760 points).

“We started with six hundred points and now we have over a thousand. There is a lot to choose from”, added Minister Czarnek.

In this programme, priority in applications is given to schools that have not yet participated in the competition.

„Only those schools that have not benefited from the ‘Meet Poland’ programme can apply first, so that everyone has access to these funds. After two weeks, more schools that have already benefited from the programme will be able to submit their applications. The same will happen with the next tranche, which will be launched in the coming months”, announced the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
