On March 23, the refinery of Grupa LOTOS in Gdańsk presented the LOTOS Group’s financial results for 2021. The Group processed approximately 9.9 million tonnes of crude oil in 2021 and produced 11 million tonnes of products, with almost the maximum use of the installed production capacity.
Consolidated EBITDA LIFO for the entire year 2021 amounted to PLN 4.23 billion compared to PLN 1.36 billion generated a year earlier. Such a significant increase is explained by the improvement in gas and crude oil prices for the upstream segment and higher margins for the main products of the production and trade segment.
In 2021, the LOTOS Group generated revenues of over PLN 33.1 billion. Their main part came from the production and trade segment – 96%. The generated net profit amounted to PLN 3.21 billion.
As it was reported, one of the significant activities of LOTOS Group in 2021, aimed at ensuring the continuity and stability of crude oil supplies, was the diversification of raw material sources, supply directions, types of crude oil and its suppliers.
The LOTOS refinery is characterized by a unique connection of supply channels by land via the PERN pipeline network and by sea via Naftoport. As part of the diversification of supplies, Nigerian Forcados oil was processed for the first time at the Gdańsk refinery.
