The jury of Prof. Tadeusz Kotarbiński competition has selected five books that will compete for the title of the best humanistic work published in Poland in 2020. Every year, the jury selects the five best works in philosophy, history, psychology, literary studies and philosophy of law.
In the seventh competition for the Award of the First Rector of the University of Lodz, Prof. Tadeusz Kotarbiński, 70 works published in 2020 were submitted to the competition what is almost a record in the history of the event led by the Łódź University.

Krzysztof Stachewicz “Experience the true reality. Prolegomena to the philosophy of mysticism”. Vol. 1., “Philosophy of mystical experience”, Vol. 2. “Man in the face of mystical experience”, published by the publishing house of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań,
Zbigniew Szmyt “Too loud historicity. Using the Past in Inner Asia “, published by Scientific Publishers of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań,
Collective work edited by Danuta Ulicka “The Age of Theory. 100 years of Polish literary studies”, published by the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Ryszard Kleszcz, a member of the jury emphasizes that the works submitted to the competition belong to various disciplines. They involve the use of various research tools and methodologies and contain various visions of the world and a man. This diverse collection of dissertations constitutes an interesting picture of Polish humanities.
