“From my many talks with entrepreneurs, I know that Polish business sees Africa as an important place for investment and the development of technological innovations”, said President Andrzej Duda during the ‘Polish-Kenyan High-Level Economic Dialogue’ held in Nairobi. Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto also took part in the discussion.

The Polish President stressed that ‘Kenya, is an extremely attractive partner for Polish companies in the ICT sector, not least because it has one of the most stable economic development paths in Africa’.

He specified that one of the permanent priorities of his presidency is to support the presence of Polish entrepreneurs on foreign markets. Andrzej Duda emphasised during the forum that the cooperation between our economies is growing dynamically, but that even more efforts should be made to use this potential more effectively.

“The size of this potential is also confirmed by the decision of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which already in 2017 opened its first representative office on the African continent right here in Kenya”, the Polish President said.

He added that “the Polish state and the Polish business community are strongly committed – also financially – to strengthening our bilateral business relations”.

President Duda pointed out that Poland, with its technological achievements, including cyber security, and rich experience of transformation, can play a significant role as one of Kenya’s development partners. He also highlighted other areas of cooperation, such as the agri-food sector, which includes technologies to increase the efficiency of agricultural production and innovative green technologies.

Andrzej Duda stressed that ‘Poland’s relations with African countries have always been based on respect and understanding of mutual interests’.

In 2022, trade turnover with Kenya reached USD 160.4 million (an increase of 159.6 %). Poland’s exports to Kenya increased by 130.7% compared to 2021 and totalled USD 81.8 million.
