Foundation for Polish Science launched a Polish-Ukrainian cooperation program

by DignityNews.eu
The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP), in an act of solidarity with Ukraine, launched the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Program aimed to finance 6 research projects in social sciences and humanities, carried out jointly by a pair of scientists from Poland and Ukraine.

The budget of each project for a period of 12 months is PLN 268,800 and includes both remuneration and research costs.

Prof. Maciej Żylicz, president of the FNP said that in the face of brutal aggression by Russia against the independent Ukrainian nation, the Foundations immediately made a decision to support Ukrainian neighbors.

“We have launched new funding, in order not only to support researchers from Ukraine but also to contribute in the long term to the intensification of cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian scientific community. We hope to finance Polish-Ukrainian research projects of importance to both our countries and contribute to deepening knowledge about the importance of democracy, European integration and security – fundamental values, so easily challenged and trampled in recent weeks”, added Prof. Żylicz.

The program is addressed to scientists who, regardless of their nationality, worked in institutions conducting scientific research in Ukraine on the first day of the war, i.e. on February 24, 2022, as well as scientists employed in institutions conducting scientific research in Poland.
