Fifty projects with a total budget of over PLN 48 million will be carried out by foreign researchers who will come to Poland as part of the Polonez Bis competition. The competition is co-financed by the European Commission and the National Science Center (NCN) under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND grant.
The winners represent countries of all continents, incl. Germany, France, China, Australia, USA, Argentina and Egypt. They will visit 26 host institutions, including 8 institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and one belonging to the Łukasiewicz Research Network (Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics).
The greatest number of laureates will be received by: the Jagiellonian University (10), the University of Warsaw (7) and the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań (4). More than half of the guest scientists will conduct research in the field of exact and technical sciences, but the program beneficiaries also include representatives of the humanities, social sciences, art and life sciences.
Until June 15th, applications may be submitted in the Polonez Bis 2 competition, and Polonez Bis 3 will be launched in mid-September. Scientists who presented a doctorate or have at least four years of full-time research experience and who have lived and worked outside Poland for at least two years prior to the competition. The choice of the subject and the scientific discipline belongs to the candidates who submit their applications together with the host institutions in Poland – their future employers.
Polonez Bis is a comprehensive program integrating research, internships in non-academic institutions and training in developing soft skills. A total of 120 experienced foreign scientists will be invited to move to Poland for two years to conduct their research. Researchers qualified for the competition can count on attractive employment conditions – remuneration of over PLN 65,000 euro per year and research grant up to 100,000 euro.
