The remnants of equipment captured by Ukrainian forces while repelling Russian aggression can be seen in the exhibition “For our freedom and yours”. Destroyed Russian tanks, as well as cannons and missiles, are on display at Castle Square in Warsaw. The exhibition is also expected to reach other cities in Poland and Western Europe to make their inhabitants aware of the atrocities of war.
The exhibits include a T-72BA tank and a Russian cannon howitzer. The exhibition is described in three languages: Polish, Ukrainian and English. It was opened by the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk and the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Hanna Maliar and can be seen in Warsaw until 6 July.
“The Ukrainian army defending its country is also protecting Poland. It is worth reminding all those who doubt the sense of military aid that Ukraine receives from Poland and other countries,” said Michał Dworczyk.
The head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery pointed out that the exhibition is proof that the Russians can be defeated. Many people claim that the Russian army is invincible and that Russia is so threatening that it has to be dealt with no matter at what cost. This destroyed equipment is proof that determination, courage and professionalism allow this seemingly invincible army to be defeated,” he added.
The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine thanked for the support provided by Poland and Poles from the first day of the war.
“Thank you for taking care of our children and women and for giving support to our soldiers at the front,” said Hanna Maliar.
The value of military aid provided by Poland to the Ukrainian army exceeded 1.8 billion euros. Poland ranks second in the world and first in Europe in terms of the value of military aid to Ukraine.
