Central Communications Port: Designers for airport hotels, offices and car parks selected

by DignityNews.eu

“The company Central Communications Port (CPK) has settled a tender for the design of car parks, offices and hotels in the immediate vicinity of the airport”, announced CPK spokesman Konrad Majszyk. Most of 15 contractors, with whom a framework agreement will be signed, are Polish companies.

The selected contractors will take part in the preparation of multi-discipline documentation. These include cargo terminals, a conference and training centre, office and exhibition buildings. In addition, a medical centre, hotels, shopping facilities and multi-storey car parks are to be built.

“The designers are faced with the task of creating buildings that will be used by passengers, customers, residents and employees. We have chosen firms with extensive design experience. Their cooperation with the designers we have already contracted for services will be crucial. It will be important to cooperate especially with the master architect responsible for the documentation for the passenger terminal and the railway station”, said a company spokesperson.

The company will sign a framework agreement with 15 contractors. Most of them will be Polish design companies. The companies and consortiums selected in the tender will be responsible for conceptual, technical, detailed and construction designs, as well as obtaining the necessary permits in later announced proceedings.

The Central Communication Port is a planned interchange between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. The Airport City will be built to the west of Warsaw – 37 km away – on approximately 3,000 hectares; in the first stage it will be able to handle 40 million passengers a year. In this area, Airport City will be built, which will include trade fair and congress, conference and office facilities.

The CPK will also include rail investments, e.g. a hub in close proximity to the airport and domestic connections. These will enable travel between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in no more than 2.5 hours.
