By 28 December 2022, advances totalling €1.066 billion had been received from the European Commission for Poland under the 2021-2027 financial perspective, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy said in a communication summarising 2022.
According to Funds and Regional Policy Minister Grzegorz Puda, thanks to the Partnership Agreement negotiated by the Polish government with the European Commission, Poland is the largest beneficiary of the cohesion policy for 2021-2027. It has national and regional programmes approved by the European Commission for the implementation of the policy and Poles have also already received the first advance payments for the launch of the programmes.
The minister stresses that cohesion policy funds have been distributed between national and regional programmes. They will be aimed at levelling development opportunities between Poland and other EU countries, as well as developing our country’s regions.
“The effort we have put into obtaining EU funds will be of great benefit to all Poles, and investments co-financed by EU funds will noticeably improve the quality of our everyday lives. This will allow our economy to enter a higher level of competitiveness and resilience to crises”, says Minister Puda.
The Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy plans to launch the first competitions from the FEnIKS and FEPW programmes in the second quarter of 2023. The first competitions from the FENG programme intend to announce already in February 2023. Under these competitions, companies will be able to obtain funding for the purchase or implementation of R&D work, the implementation of new technological solutions, the development of entrepreneurial employees’ competences, digitisation and the introduction of green technological solutions.
For years, Poland has been a leader in the use of EU funds, being the largest beneficiary of the transferred funds.
