The construction of the S19 expressway near the border with Slovakia (Via Carpatia) and works on the E30 and E65 railway lines in the Silesian voivodship are the main projects that received support under the first competition from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) under the EU’s 2021-2027 financial perspective.
Polish transport projects received a total of EUR 1.27 billion in CEF funding. “This once again confirms the importance of the Via Carpatia for the development of the European transport network. The leader in obtaining CEF funds is the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe company, which obtained the support of EUR 937 million for two railway projects on the section between Katowice and the Polish-Czech border. The projects were granted with co-financing of 85% of the investment.
