The White House announced on Monday night that US President Joe Biden will visit Poland next Friday, March 25. On Saturday, the leader of the United States will meet President Andrzej Duda.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki wrote in a statement that this week President Biden will travel to Poland after meetings with US allies from NATO, the G7 group and the European Union in Brussels. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss international efforts to support Ukraine and impose the serious and unprecedented sanctions for Russia’s invasion. On Friday, March 25, President Biden will travel to Warsaw, where there will be a bilateral meeting with President Andrzej Duda. They will discuss how the US with allies and partners, are reacting to the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia in the unjustified and unprovoked war Ukraine.
Biden’s arrival in Warsaw is planned for Friday, the meeting with Duda will take place on Saturday, March 26. The American president will return to Washington on the same day.
The head of the President’s International Policy Bureau, Jakub Kumoch stated that before the meeting with Biden, President Duda will fly to Moldova, Bulgaria and Romania as part of consultations before the NATO summit and a conversation with the US President. The series of talks will start on Monday in Moldova, where Andrzej Duda will meet the president of this country, Maia Sandu. Then the president will travel to Bulgaria and Romania and will talk to Presidents Rumen Radew and Klaus Iohannis.
Warsaw will be the second point of Biden’s visit to Europe. Earlier on Wednesday, the US president will fly to Brussels, where he will participate in the G7 summit and the European Council summit on Thursday. Both meetings will focus on sanctions against Russia, humanitarian aid and other conflict-related challenges.
On Monday, Biden will also hold a telephone conversation with the leaders of France, Germany, Great Britain and Italy to discuss the response to the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
