The JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation, together with partners from the Visegrad Group (V4) countries, is implementing the Visegrad Jazz Exchange project. The initiative includes concert tours and music workshops in all V4 countries. “Visegrad Jazz Exchange” aims to establish artistic cooperation between musicians of the Group countries. The project is co-financed by the International Visegrad Fund and started in February with concerts in the Czech Republic.

“The project aims to develop cooperation between artists and organisations of the V4 countries, both now and in the near future. The project intends to create a unique ensemble comprising leading representatives of the jazz scene from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. The artists will perform a repertoire specially prepared for the occasion, inspired by the culture of each country, as well as current music”, says the president and Jakub Krzeszowski.

The ensemble includes Radovan Tariška (saxophone, Slovakia), Rafał Sarnecki (guitar, Poland), Tomas Baroš (double bass, Czech Republic) and Balazs Bágyi (drums, Hungary). The project will include 16 concerts, four in each country. The musicians will also conduct music workshops for students of music universities. The project began with concerts in the Czech Republic, in May the ensemble will perform in Slovakia, in September in Hungary and in November in Poland.

The project is implemented by the JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation. Partners include the Slovak Jazz Society, TIM Produkcio and Czech Jazz Art. Honorary patronage is held by the Polish Institute in Bratislava and the Polish Institute in Prague. The Jazz Forum magazine has assumed media auspices.

The JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation is an NGO presenting a wide range of possibilities for Polish artists of the young generation. It helps to establish international cultural cooperation and integrates artists from many countries. As part of its projects, concerts by Polish and foreign artists are also held in Poland.
