US President Joe Biden will start his visit to Poland on Friday. He will fly from Brussels, where he participated in NATO, G7 and European Union summits. The presidential Air Force One plane will land in the afternoon at the airport in Rzeszów. President Andrzej Duda will welcome Joe Biden there.

The main purpose of the visit to the Podkarpacie region is to meet the soldiers of the US 82nd Airborne Division who were sent to Poland due to the war in Ukraine. Both presidents will also meet with volunteers helping Ukrainian refugees. After several hours in Rzeszów, Joe Biden will fly to Warsaw.

On the second day of his visit to Poland, Biden will meet President Duda and “deliver remarks on the united efforts of the free world to support the people of Ukraine, hold Russia accountable for its brutal war, and defend a future that is rooted in democratic principles.” informs the White House.

The head of the presidential International Policy Bureau, Jakub Kumoch, announced that one of the items on Saturday’s program will also be a visit to the National Stadium.

“Joe Biden will learn about the help provided by Poland to our Ukrainian brothers and granting them PESEL numbers. He will be accompanied by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski” wrote Kumoch on Twitter.

Speaking about President Biden’s visit to Poland, President Andrzej Duda pointed out that it means both substantive and symbolic completion of a whole series of American visits that have recently taken place in Poland. He recalled that the US Vice President Kamala Harris, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the head of US diplomacy Antony Blinken had also recently visited Poland.

Duda emphasized that both presidents would discuss the security of NATO’s and Poland’s eastern flank.

‘President Biden wants to see these issues with his own eyes, both in terms of the security of NATO’s eastern flank, the American presence in Poland, as well as the refugee crisis that Poland is facing at the moment”, said President Duda.
