“Never before have Americans and Poles been so close”, said US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski during a conference to mark the 150th anniversary of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences. He assured that Poland is safe and that this is guaranteed by the US soldiers stationed in our country.
Brzezinski, who had a speech titled “Challenges Facing the Euro-Atlantic Community” during the Krakow conference, assessed that the crisis creates proximity and cooperation between people with completely different perspectives, and this is exactly what happened in Central Europe.
“Never before have Americans and Poles been so close. Now we live in a moment when America and Poland share the same freedom. We are united not only in support for refugees, but also in the field of the security crisis, because we do not know what Putin can do.” do then“, said the ambassador.
The American diplomat recalled, there are currently more than 10,000 US troops stationed in Poland.
“These soldiers stand side by side with the Polish army, we have interoperability between modern war equipment that has never existed before. We have an absolutely sophisticated integration of the American and Polish armies that creates a context in which it is safe to say that Poland is safe and secure”, said the US ambassador to Poland.
Asked about the possibility of US partners building a nuclear power plant in Poland, Brzezinski assessed that energy is a critical area for the security dimension.
“Defense and security are much more than military equipment. It also has a lot to do with energy. We Americans want Poland not only to be free, we want Poland to flourish, we want Poland to develop also economically. It means that Poland it must have a definite energy future, which will be as far as possible from the problems of the past, from coal, from the Russian energy sector, and nuclear energy offers such an opportunity “, said Brzezinski.
