US Ambassador to Poland Mark Brzezinski said on Thursday that Vladimir Putin should clearly understand that Americans and Poles stand hand in hand and are ready for any scenario.
Poland is safe. Poland is secured. America stands shoulder to shoulder with Poland as a partner in NATO – said the ambassador in Polish.
Russia attacked Ukraine on Thursday morning after an order issued by Vladimir Putin. Explosions were heard in many Ukrainian cities, and airports and military infrastructure were attacked. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Thursday morning that Russian troops from various directions including from the occupied Donbas and Crimea, were attacking Ukrainian cities.
The US ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski, when asked what Russia’s attack on Ukraine means for him as an ambassador to a bordering country, said that the crisis in Ukraine is an absolute priority. He added that the US today has 10,000 soldiers in Poland. Brzezinski emphasized “We all in Polish bases are ready for any scenario”.
The ambassador assessed that there has never been a greater understanding between American and Polish forces as it is today. American soldiers exercise with Polish soldiers in forests, in the fields, in central Poland, in eastern Poland. They use the best technology and the best possible equipment, said Brzezinski.
During his visit to Poland, the Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said last Friday that the USA and Poland have been conducting joint missions. It is a coordination of operations that sends a powerful message. Putin should clearly understand that Americans and Poles stand shoulder to shoulder and are ready for any scenario.
Mark Brzezinski emphasized that two weeks ago there were 5,000 American soldiers in Poland, in Powidz, Poznań and in the NATO rapid reaction force in eastern Poland. Also, two weeks ago, President Biden announced that he was sending the 82nd Airborne Division and a part of this division arrived in Poland within five days in addition with helicopters and other military equipment.
