by Dignity News
Polish government is striving to locate Poland the center of the international fund created by the United Nations, which will support the reconstruction of Ukraine. This was announced by Jacek Sasin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets.

Deputy Prime Minister Sasin admitted that the topic was talked about during the last World Economic Forum in Davos.

“The issue dominated primarily in the context of today’s situation including sanctions, response to aggression, humanitarian aid. Here, Poland was mentioned practically everywhere as the country that provides Ukraine with the most help”, said Jacek Sasin and added that Poland has become a transit destination for Ukrainian imports and exports. It will depend on the efficiency of our country whether the grain from Ukraine will reach the markets at least the part of it.

Deputy Prime Minister Sasin said that the future of Ukraine and the financing of the reconstruction of this country after the war were also discussed in Davos. In this context, discussions with representatives of the United Nations were important.

The United Nations is creating an international fund to support the reconstruction of Ukraine. “We are striving for locating the center of this fund in Poland, in Warsaw. We wish to create not only a logistics but also a financial center” he said.

In this context, the head of the Ministry of State Assets revealed that Poland is still in talks with government representatives in Kyiv developing a plan to support the reconstruction of Ukraine with “a study that synthesizes the possibilities of state-owned companies, their know-how”.

“We will also launch a digital platform so that private companies can also send their proposals. We want to integrate the entire activity of the Polish economy in this area in the ministry and present our offer to the Ukrainians”, said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin.
