Ukraine thanks Poland for supporting the army in the war against Russia

by Dignity News
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has thanked Poland for supporting its army in the war against Russia and, above all, for the supply of Krab cannon howitzers, which have been called a “nightmare” for Russian occupiers and a “weapon of victory”.

“Today, we would like to express our gratitude to our Polish partners at the Ministry of Defence for their continued support, and in particular for providing us with the AHS Krab self-propelled howitzer,” says the Ukrainian defence ministry’s Twitter profile,

As the Ukrainian ministry points out, the Krab has become one of the first 155mm calibre artillery systems in service with the Ukrainian army. “The howitzer has also become a nightmare for the occupying forces in the skilful hands of Ukraine’s artillerymen”, says the Ministry.

The Ukrainians published a post about the Krab under the heading ‘Advent Calendar of the Ministry of Defence’ and said that more information about the ‘victory weapon’ would follow in the next few days.

The AHS Krab is a self-propelled cannon howitzer on a tracked chassis, manufactured by Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. Poland has transferred several dozen of these machines to Ukraine from the Polish Army’s resources. At the same time, last year the Ukrainian side signed a con-tract with Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. for the construction of 56 Crabs.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Poland has donated many types of military vehicles and equipment to Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russia. They include Piorun portable anti-aircraft missile sets manufactured by the Polish Armaments Group and Grot rifles from Radom-based Łucznik”, informs TVN24.pl.

Ukraine has ordered the delivery of 100 Rosomak infantry fighting vehicles used by the Polish army and manufactured by the Rosomak S.A company in Siemianowice Śląskie. Deliveries of Rak self-propelled mortars were also reported. From the resources of the Polish Army, Ukraine also received PT-91 and T-72 tanks, Leopard 2 tanks and MiG-29 fighters.
