The Ministry of Climate and Environment is proceeding to issue decisions in principle for 10 nuclear reactor sites. According to figures provided by Deputy Minister Adam Guibourgé – Czetwertyński, decisions have been issued for 2 power plants so far.
The Minister for Climate and the Environment is conducting proceedings to issue fundamental decisions initiated on applications submitted by 6 special purpose companies Orlen Synthos Green Energy sp. z o.o. These companies are planning investments using GE- Hitachi’s BWRX-300 technology in the following municipalities: the City of Dąbrowa Górnicza, the City of Kraków, the City of Ostrołęka, the City of Stalowa Wola, the City of Oświęcim, the City of Włocławek.
Another investor is Last Energy Polska SPV 1, which intends to build nuclear power plants using Last Energy’s PWR-20 reactor technology in 3 locations in the municipalities of Jaworzno, Częstochowa and Jaworze, in Silesia.
PGE PAK Energia Jądrowa S.A. also aims to build nuclear power plants using the APR1400 reactor technology of the Korean Electric Power Company (KEPCO) in the territory of the municipality of Konin and the municipality of Kazimierz Biskupi, in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
Deputy Minister Guibourgé – Czetwertyński informed that the climate ministry has already issued a fundamental decision on the application submitted by Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe sp. z o.o. – for an investment involving the construction of a nuclear power plant using Westinghouse Electric Company’s AP1000 reactor technology in the municipalities of Choczewo and Gniewino and Krokowa, in the Pomeranian Voivodship.
Another decision was issued at the request of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. for an investment involving the construction of a nuclear power plant using NuScale’s VOYGR reactor technology (preferred technology) in the municipalities of Lubasz and Wieleń, in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship.
