The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) is launching recruitment for a prestigious two-year internship at the European Space Agency (ESA) for master’s degree graduates. The recruitment is the result of an agreement between the Minister of Development and Technology and the ESA regarding the National Trainee Programme, reported Agnieszka Gapys, spokeswoman for POLSA.
As part of the agreement, young university graduates from Poland will have a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in ESA offices in various roles related to the space industry, as well as gaining broad professional competence working in an international environment. ESA offices are located in Germany, France, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands.
The programme is aimed at graduates with a Master’s degree (obtained within the last two years) in subjects related to the broader space industry. Internships are offered in areas such as systems engineering, space economics, diplomacy, mission control, technologies related to Earth observation or support for manned space flights. The full offer for Poland covers as many as 33 topics.
“Thanks to the educated, talented and creative employees of the Polish space sector, Polish technologies are becoming more and more visible on the international market. We open the second decade of our membership in the European Space Agency with a special opportunity addressed to young people. Dear graduates, you have the opportunity to create the future from the very beginning of your professional career. We encourage you to apply for internships at the ESA”, appealed POLSA President Prof. Grzegorz Wrochna.
The first recruitment will select up to 20 interns who will start working in the ESA office of their choice in February 2024. The internship programme envisages a total of 30 two-year paid positions.
