Recruitment for the second “Train with the Army” project has started. “This is a pro-defence and pro-social initiative of the Ministry of National Defence (MON) and the Polish Army and a response to social demand in the area of security and defence”, informs the Ministry of Defence.
“We decided to open the second programme during the winter holidays. We have increased the number of places by 100%, so we are prepared to have more than 8,000 willing participants in such trainings”, said Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak during the inauguration of the project.
The second programme ‘Train with the Army (during holidays)’ project will last for seven weeks – from 14 January to 25 February 2023. The dates of the training are matched to the dates of holidays in a given voivodeship. In each region, at least one military unit will take part in the project. A total of 31 units of operational troops and Territorial Defence Forces are involved.
The head of the Ministry of Defence informed that the training classes scheduled on Saturdays will be free of charge. Military instructors will teach how to use weapons and how to administer medical first aid. They will present the basic principles of field survival and hand-to-hand combat techniques, and it will also be possible to find out where to take shelter in the event of an attack, alarm or crisis.
To sign up for the training, all you need to do is go to the Ministry of Defence website, select a date and location and apply. This can also be done via social media. Application forms will also be available on the websites of the individual military units.
“It is enough to fill in such a form and we invite you to go through such basic exercises together with the soldiers of the Polish Army. We do not hide the fact that we would like to encourage all those who have not yet decided what they want to do in the future, to encourage them to serve in the Polish Army through this type of exercise, a one-day exercise”, noted Minister Błaszczak.
