Scientists to detect bettor’s suspicious behavior in collaboration with a bookmaker

by Dignity News
Scientists from the University of Economics in Katowice are creating a tool to identify people with potential problems in responsible gambling in sports betting. The solution using artificial intelligence is created in cooperation with a bookmaker.

Scientists from the Department of Machine Learning are responsible for creating innovative tool. In cooperation with the STS group, one of the largest bookmakers in Central Europe and the market leader in Poland, they will develop an AI tool for algorithmic determination of players with potential problems in responsible gaming.

Work on the innovative solution is a continuation of activities undertaken by STS earlier. Recently, the company announced the implementation of the Mentor tool, aiming to monitor potentially suspicious behavior of players related to the excessive number of hours spent on the game and other indications of possible addiction.

“Players who play sensibly are more loyal and their activity is much longer. We are a responsible operator and we want to make sure our users have full control of their game. That is why cooperation with the EU in Katowice is so important to us. I believe that thanks to it, we will soon be able to detect players’ behaviors even faster and more effectively, which helps indicate their difficulties with safe and responsible betting on the results. This will allow us to implement the policy of responsible gaming even more effectively”, emphasizes the president of STS, Mateusz Juroszek.

STS is a pioneer in the field of activities involving the so-called responsible game. Customers have at their disposal a team of consultants operating around the clock and a separate team of specialists who deal with picking up signals indicating a player’s potentially unhealthy approach to betting.
