Promotion of Polish dance during the Tanzmesse 2022 International Trade Fair

by Dignity News
The National Institute of Music and Dance and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute will promote Polish dance at the Tanzmesse 2022 International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf.  After a two-year gap due to a pandemic, one of the most important dance events in the world will start – on Wednesday 31 August.

The National Institute of Music and Dance and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute will present to an international audience the website polanddances.pl, through which foreign dance producers and promoters can learn about the activities of institutions, NGOs, groups and individual artists in Poland.

Ambassadors of Polish dance at the fair in Düsseldorf will include representatives of the community who use the polanddances.pl website as a promotional tool on a daily basis. During the Fair, each of them will represent a different area of dance activity: the contemporary ballet trend, the independent and international trends, the independent trend in Poland and managerial activity.

PolandDances is an impresario tool, supporting Polish dance artists in promoting their activities abroad. Through various activities, the National Institute of Music and Dance intends to motivate artists to enter international co-operation, enable foreign presentations of performances and promote Polish dance creation.

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN) reports that it funded the polanddances.pl website. It was created in 2020 in cooperation between the National Institute of Music and Dance and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

The website provides foreign audiences with an insight into how the Polish dance scene performs today, as well as allows international dance producers, presenters and managers to reach out to specific artists and companies in Poland and find performances that not only match their artistic profile, but also their logistical, technical and financial capabilities.
