Polish President Andrzej Duda, accompanied by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Latvian President Egils Levits and Estonian President Alar Karis, are already in Ukraine and are going to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“This visit is special. The president is in the territory of the hostilities. All I can say is that the president, together with the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, is in Ukraine”, said Paweł Szrot, head of the Cabinet of the President of Poland.

He informed the public that talks in Kyiv will focus on possible forms of support for Ukraine and recalled that Poland and the Baltic states support our eastern neighbors very concretely, both in terms of helping millions of refugees who crossed the borders, and in helping to conduct defense activities.

Jakub Kumoch, a secretary of state in the Chancellery of the President, who accompany the President of Poland, together with the head of the National Security Bureau Paweł Soloch and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz, said that “our goal is to support President Zelensky and the defenders of Ukraine at a decisive moment for their country».

Before leaving for Kyiv, on Tuesday, April 12, in the evening, an extraordinary summit of the leaders of Poland and the Baltic states was held in Rzeszów. It was entirely devoted to the situation in Ukraine. As the President’s Chancellery informed, “the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the security situation in Ukraine and the region, as well as ways of supporting Ukraine”.
