The traditional Presidential Harvest Festival was held in the courtyard of the Belvedere with the participation of President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser – Duda.
“For the President of Poland, this meeting is an opportunity to thank and pay tribute to those who work on the land”, stressed Andrzej Duda.
The President thanked farmers “for their hard work and understanding” and assured that he is ready to support all changes that will serve Polish farmers.
“All who farm, through their work, provide us, our whole country and society with food security”, the President stressed, adding that this is one of the fundamental and most important issues “without which it is difficult to imagine the functioning of the state and the existence of society”.
Andrzej Duda pointed out that agriculture enormously contributes to Poland’s Gross Domestic Product, as well as makes Poland famous and builds its good brand around the world. He referred to his recent visit to Africa, where in each of the three countries he visited “one of the fundamental elements of all political talks was also cooperation in agriculture, our support to offer from the infrastructural, technical side and the export side, through our agricultural production, as well as through education, knowledge, know-how, through the output of the Polish farmers and the achievements of Polish universities”.
The President thanked all people involved in the negotiations on the National Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy.
“This is an extremely important moment of approving our plan, in which the enormous amount of €25 billion for the next perspective of 2023-2027 has finally been allocated and will be distributed to Polish farmers,” said Andrzej Duda.
