The situation in Ukraine was the subject of a teleconference called by US President Joe Biden with President Andrzej Duda. According to the Polish President, Joe Biden called for aid to the country to be sustained. “We are determined to support Ukraine”, said Andrzej Duda.
“I presented what the situation is in Poland; we are one of the key countries when it comes to aid for Ukraine”, the Polish president said after the teleconference.
Andrzej Duda said that the American leader assured support for Poland in the context of provocations by Belarusian services.
“President Biden stressed our extremely responsible and reasonable behaviour in the case of provocations that we face from the Belarusian side. He mentioned very clearly about the crossing of the border by Belarusian helicopters, that we have behaved very responsibly, also as a member state of the North Atlantic Alliance, and that he thanked us for consulting with the allies on this matter and that of course we can be sure here of 100 % support from NATO, both the Headquarters and the member states in case of any provocations, this he stressed very strongly”, reported Andrzej Duda.
The Polish president said that the conversation lasted an hour and was held at the invitation of Joe Biden. The American leader invited the G7 countries, the leaders of the European Union to the conversation, and the Secretary General of NATO was also present. “I represented our part of Europe with the President of Romania”, said Andrzej Duda.
President Joe Biden told allies that the United States would continue to help Ukraine fighting the Russian invasion. “The President had a telephone conversation with allies and partners this morning to coordinate our continued support for Ukraine”, the White House said in a news release.
