Every last Thursday of the month, experts from the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) and Space industry representatives will talk about the challenges facing the Polish space sector. The first meeting is scheduled for June 30 and will focus on robotics and space exploration.
Poland’s accession to the European Space Agency (ESA), whose 10th anniversary falls in 2022, was an important event in the development of Polish companies and research units. During this time, the scale and scope of Polish involvement in permanent programs and subsequent ESA missions increased significantly. It translated into a significant development of competences and readiness to implement more complex and ambitious projects.
POLSA points out that a detailed knowledge of the Polish space industry, its potential and needs, reported by Polish enterprises and centers, will help shape the final position of the national delegation to the ESA Ministerial Council planned for November this year, during which the multi-annual division of budget of this organization will be accepted.
The first of Thursday’s meetings, scheduled for June 30, will be devoted to orbital and planetary robotics, manned and unmanned space exploration, and the construction of scientific instruments.
POLSA is announcing that subsequent meetings will also focus on carefully selected segments of the space sector’s activity.
“POLSA, for a long time, has been open to scientific and business environments and it is committed to supporting both of them”, emphasizes the President of POLSA, Prof. Grzegorz Wrochna. “We are in constant contact with each other, we meet at industry events. We cannot afford to miss any of the challenges faced by the Polish space sector, hence the idea for these periodic consultations. We want to meet and talk about future projects and plans”, added the President of POLSA.
