Polish government to appoint a plenipotentiary for innovation in European projects

According to the list of legislative and program works of the Council of Ministers, the Polish government intends to appoint a plenipotentiary for innovation in European projects, whose task would be to support innovation in the implementation of programs co-financed from European funds in 2022-2027.

According to the published documents, in the 2nd quarter of this year, the government will appoint a representative for innovation in European projects as a secretary of state in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. This Ministry is also preparing regulations.

The tasks of the plenipotentiary will include analysis of applicable legal regulations and existing solutions in the field of innovation in the implementation of programs, projects and undertakings financed with the participation of European funds; identification of problems and risks for innovation in the implementation of programs, projects and undertakings; undertaking activities aimed at promoting innovation and developing cooperation with social and economic partners in the field of disseminating innovation.

In order to properly implement the tasks, the plenipotentiary will be able to cooperate with the local authorities, state legal entities, legal entities with the participation of the State Treasury and non-governmental organizations, as well as after prior agreement with the minister competent for regional development. In the scope of the entrusted tasks, he will be able to appoint expert and advisory teams as well as commission expert opinions.
