Polish government to allocate almost PLN 4.8 billion for infrastructure related to the construction of a nuclear power plant

According to the Council of Ministers’ legislative and programme work list, the government is planning to establish a multi-year programme to support infrastructure investments in relation to the construction of a nuclear power plant in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The programme includes the planning, design and construction of infrastructure investments in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in the years 2022-2029. The programme includes the construction of hydro-technical infrastructure in the communes of Choczewo and Krokowa, as well as the construction and reconstruction of roads providing access to these localities. The value of the programme is estimated at nearly PLN 4.8 billion.
The adoption by the Council of Ministers of a programme to support infrastructural investments in relation to the realisation of key investments in strategic energy infrastructure, including a nuclear power plant in Pomorskie Voivodeship is planned for Q3.

The aim of the programme is to support infrastructural investments in connection with the realisation of key investments in the field of strategic energy infrastructure, including a nuclear power plant, in Pomorskie voivodeship”.
The following tasks will be supported under the programme: construction of hydro-technical infrastructure within the technical zone in the area of the Choczewo or Krokowa communes and in the sea areas of the Republic of Poland, especially for the needs of the nuclear power plant, and construction of a national road providing access to the nuclear power plant in the area of the Choczewo or Gniewino and Krokowa communes from the nearest expressway.

There are also plans to build, rebuild or renovate railway infrastructure providing access to the Nowa Wieś Lęborska, Lębork, Wicko, Łeba, Wejherowo, Choczewo, Gniewino and Krokowa municipalities, depending on the variant being pursued, including railway lines with overhead lines, passenger stations, freight terminals and engineering facilities.
