As many as six out of eight stadiums built for the World Cup in Qatar were equipped with seats manufactured by the Polish company Forum by Nowy Styl. A total of 350,000 chairs made by the Polish brand were supplied to the stadiums in Qatar.
“The Qatar World Cup is the culmination of many years of our work and experience. We supplied chairs and VIP seats for six of the eight stadiums. In 2017, together with our local partner, we were selected to furnish three stadiums. A year later, we were commissioned for another three premises. This is the biggest order for us to date and at the same time an unprecedented project in the industry” says Forum by Nowy Styl managing director Jakub Rachfalik.
Most of the chairs were manufactured locally in Qatar by Coastal Qatar. Nowy Styl licensed the Abacus and Omega plastic chairs for production.
“We needed a local partner, for logistical and operational reasons. It was a broad partnership involving a licensing agreement and technology transfer. Our specialists travelled to Qatar and trained employees. The VIP seats were manufactured at our facilities in Jaslo”, Rachfalik reports.
More than 350,000 seats under the Forum by Nowy Styl brand have been installed at a total of six venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar: the Al Bayt (60,000 seats), Ahmad Bin Ali (40,000 seats), Al Janoub (40,000), Education City (40,000), Lusajl Stadium (80,000) and Stadium 974 (40,000), where the Poles played their first World Cup match against Mexico.
Fans of the World Cup will be sitting on Forum by Nowy Styl’s most popular stadium seats – Abacus and Omega. Both models have already proved themselves at major sporting events at venues such as the Puskas Arena in Budapest, the Allianz Riviera in Nice, the Parc Olympique Lyonnais or the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów.
