Bechtel has concluded its first contracts with Polish companies. They cover work related to technical support for the construction of Poland’s first nuclear power plant. Partnerships with the local supply chain are a key element in implementing the project and transferring knowledge to the Polish market.
Companies that have signed cooperation agreements for the Polish nuclear power plant project include Energoprojekt-Katowice, which will provide regulatory and standards services and environmental permitting support, Prochem, which will provide support in acquiring permit documentation, and Summa Linguae, which provides translation services.
“Bechtel has been at the forefront of nuclear power project delivery for 70 years. One of the most important lessons from this period is that partnerships at the local level are crucial to project success. Poland’s first nuclear power plant will strengthen energy security and boost the country’s economic development”, said Bechtel project director Jared DeMeritt.
The potential scope of this project is extraordinary and creates the prospect of extensive cooperation with the Polish supply chain. “We hope that more companies will soon join the Polish suppliers”, added Margaret Jackson, supply chain manager at Bechtel.
Bechtel, together with Westinghouse Electric Company, has formed a consortium and is partnering with the Polish Nuclear Power Plant to supply three AP1000 reactors for Poland’s first nuclear power plant at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site.
Bechtel Corporation is an American company founded in San Francisco in 1898. It is a partner in engineering, construction and project management for industry and government. It serves the infrastructure, nuclear, safety and environment, energy and mining and metals markets.
