The Ministry of Health informed on Monday about 33.480 new and confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. Four people died due to COVID-19 and further 29 people due to COVID-19 and other diseases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,886,154 SARS-CoV-2 infections 105,194 deaths and 4.013.430 recoveries have been recorded in Poland.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, about 60% of coronavirus infections in Poland in the last week are caused by the Omicron variant. The omicron has become the dominant variant in Poland, following the previously active delta variant. Within the last 24 hours, 106,663 coronavirus tests were performed.
The Ministry of Health also said that currently 15,447 beds are occupied by coronavirus patients in hospitals and 666,689 people are quarantined. A week ago, on January 24, there were 13,675 patients in hospitals, including 1,234 on ventilators. At that time, 819,306 people were in quarantine.
The ministry also announced that a total of 30,470 beds are available for COVID-19 patients. The number of available ventilators is 2,718.
During the past 24 hours, 19,509 vaccinations were performed in Poland. The total number of vaccinations performed is 51,564,403 and 21,727,625 people are fully vaccinated. In 17,963 cases, adverse vaccine reactions were reported. According to the Ministry of Health, 743,048 doses of the vaccine have been disposed of, so far.
