PGE Energia Odnawialna has launched two photovoltaic farms – Huszlew and Huszlew 2 in north-eastern Mazovia. With a total capacity of 13 MW, the new installations are worth around PLN 60 million. In this half-year, the solar portfolio has increased by 77 MW, to nearly 100 MW. By the end of the year, the company will operate or have under construction PV power plants with a total capacity of around 500 MW.
PGE Energia Odnawialna, part of the PGE Capital Group, is currently the largest producer of green energy in Poland, providing zero-emission generation sources with approximately 2,530 MW of installed capacity. The portfolio currently includes 21 wind farms, 29 hydroelectric power plants, four pumped storage power plants and 31 photovoltaic farms.
At the end of the first half of the year, PGE Group’s report to investors showed that it operated 20 wind farms, 29 run-of-river hydroelectric power plants, 4 pumped storage power plants and 24 photovoltaic installations.
The solar park has just expanded with two large-scale photovoltaic power plants: PV Huszlew and PV Huszlew 2. The sister installations occupy plots of land with a total area of almost 18 ha. They comprise a total of around 23,000 monocrystalline panels, which can produce electricity regardless of the weather, even at low light levels, under conditions typical of the Polish climatic zone.
According to estimates, the panels installed on the new farms will be able to produce more than 13 GWh per year, which will allow them to meet the energy needs of approximately 6,000 households.
By the end of 2023, PGE Energia Odnawialna will have PV power plants in operation or under construction with a total capacity of approximately 500 MW. In the following years, this process will continue. Currently, the company has about 3,000 hectares of land secured for investment purposes, where solar farms with a total capacity of more than 2 GW can be built.
