By the end of March 2024, the Council of Ministers will adopt a draft regulation on the creation of the Ministry of Industry. Such a provision has appeared in the list of legislative and programme work of the Council of Ministers.
The person responsible for preparing the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers is Industry Minister Marzena Czarnecka.
The draft provides for the creation of the Ministry of Industry by separating from the Ministry of State Assets, which handles matters of the government administration departments State Assets, Communications and Management of Mineral Deposits, the organisational units handling matters of the government administration department Management of Mineral Deposits, and the employees handling matters of this department.
As a reminder, in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Decree of 19 December 2023, the Minister of Industry is in charge of the government administration department “mineral deposits management”, and its services are provided by the Ministry of State Assets and the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice.
Silesian Governor Marek Wójcik said that Minister Marzena Czarnecka currently has her office with a secretariat at the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice, and she performs her duties both there and at the headquarters of the Ministry of State Assets.
So far, the potential locations where the new ministry will be based are being analysed. It is only certain that it will be in Silesia.
“We are looking for the right location above all from the point of view of the Ministry of Industry being able to start its activities quickly. Therefore, these must be real estates which on the one hand belong to the State Treasury, while on the other hand the ministry could start its activity there relatively quickly”, explained voivode Wójcik.
