Minister of Digitization appointed PL/AI Artificial Intelligence team for Poland

by Dignity News
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitization Krzysztof Gawkowski has appointed the PL/AI Artificial Intelligence for Poland advisory team, which will develop recommendations for the use of AI to improve specific areas of state operations. The team of top scientists, entrepreneurs and developers who have achieved global success in the field of AI will permanently advise the Ministry of Digitization.

The originator of the team is Miron Mironiuk – founder and CEO of Cosmose AI, a Polish company operating in Asia’s largest markets, which last September launched a pilot program to teach programming in elementary school, “Programming = Our Second Language,” under the auspices of the Ministry of Digitization. The team and the involvement of experts in supporting the administration is part of the Poland Top10 strategy. Agnieszka Mikołajczyk-Bareła, Kamila Staryga, Marek Cygan, Tomasz Czajka, Karol Kurach and Łukasz Kidziński have also joined the team.

“We are initiating a very important project, a group of experts with proven global successes in AI development have pledged their support. This group is, of course, open and we want more participants to join it. I believe that together we can ensure that AI will be used to significantly improve the functioning of administrative activities that are important to citizens, and consequently to improve the lives of Poles”, said Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski. „The work that will take place within the framework of the team is, of course, only one element of our activities related to strengthening the use of this technology, support for its developers and the legislation it requires. We have a lot of work to do in this area, but this is one of the priorities for me”, added the head of the Ministry of Digitization.

The group’s initiators have identified 10 areas where artificial intelligence has a chance to realistically improve state operations. Among them are issues in the fields of security, education, public health, effective state and development, where AI could allow for increased efficiency, elimination of barriers or better planning.
