Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science says that the educational system developed for children from Ukraine will be used in the next school year. “We have created the most flexible system possible”, said the minister at a press conference.
During a meeting with journalists at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the head of the Ministry of Education announced that the system developed so far allowed the admission of 200,000. children and adolescents from Ukraine to Polish schools in a way that does not interfere in the least with the normal educational process of Polish children.
“We have created the most flexible system possible. We are transferring all the solutions adopted so far to the next school year – from September 1 to the end of the next school year, so that this flexible system will also apply in the next school year “, said the Minister of Education and Science.
Among the existing solutions, the head of the ministry mentioned the creation of preparatory units with an increased number of people in these units up to 25; admitting children to Polish classes with an increased maximum number in grades 1-3 or in kindergartens; the possibility of employing Ukrainian teachers; the possibility of employing Polish teachers for compensation benefits and the possibility of working out more overtime hours than the maximum limit of nine.
Przemysław Czarnek also said that in order to meet the expectations of local governments, due to the large amount of work related to the admission of Ukrainian children and young people to Polish schools, the act has introduced the possibility of employing headmasters without the need to conduct competitions in agreement with the pedagogical supervision authority.
