Four months ago, the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek announced that from September 1, 2023, the subject of Business and Management will be introduced to schools. From 2027, it can be selected as an additional subject at the extended level of the final examination. Meanwhile, on May 17, nearly a thousand young people from all over the country took part in open consultations on this subject.
On January 20, 2022, in the Stock Exchange Quotation Room, during a meeting between Minister Czarnek and representatives of Polish business, business organizations and economic universities, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science pointed out that teaching entrepreneurship requires greater emphasis on developing practical skills and competences.
“This is indeed a subject that Poland needs very much”, said Minister Przemysław Czarnek on May 17, starting the consultations.
The minister pointed out that the new subject will develop the competences needed in a dynamically changing world, shape the entrepreneurial attitude and teach young people how to effectively manage their own finances.
“It is not only about developing the ability and willingness to start a business, run your own business in the young generation. It is also about managing the household and its finances more effectively”, said Minister Przemysław Czarnek to the participants of the meeting.
The nationwide consultations on the new subject of Business and Management took the form of an open online meeting. They were preceded by a questionnaire filled out by nearly 1,200 young people from all over Poland who were invited to participate in the consultations.
The aim of introducing a new subject is to adapt education to the needs of the labor market and universities, as well as to equip young people with competences that will allow them to function efficiently in the world of finance and to make responsible financial decisions.
